<p>PURPOSE: A method and device are provided to surely detect a repeated frame of a video signal that is frozen under an actual environment. CONSTITUTION: A video acquisition module(12) acquires an input video signal, a subtraction unit(14) and a frame delay circuit(16) obtain an inter-pixel difference of a corresponding field of a consecutive frame and an absolute value unit(18) obtains an absolute difference. A bit map(20) stores the absolute differences and a threshold generator(22) obtains a threshold TH from the absolute difference. A comparator(24) compares the output signal of the bit map with the threshold and stores the result to a logic bit map(26). A segment counter(30) obtains a count value of each segment of the logic bit map and a normalizing distribution computer(28) obtains a normalized count value. A limit circuit(32) obtains a boundary value from the normalized count value and detects the repetitive frame, in response to output signals of comparators(34,36).</p> |
