PURPOSE: An idle gear shaft of an internal combustion engine is provided to prevent transformation of a housing through increasing contacting area of the idle gear shaft with the housing. CONSTITUTION: A seat(32) is formed around a shaft bolt(40) on a cylinder block(38). Then, an idle gear flange pipe unit(34) is assembled to the shaft bolt for locating the idle gear flange pipe unit having a bearing(48). Thus, a large area of a flange unit(42) of the idle gear flange pipe unit is attached to the seat. An idle gear(44) is assembled to the idle gear flange pipe unit by using a shaft hole(46). After inserting a washer(36), a nut(52) is combined to the shaft bolt. Therefore, surface pressure is uniformly applied to the seat for preventing transformation of a balance shaft gear side.
