PURPOSE: A cam type press is provided to easily form a panel in undercut shape regardless of the original shape of the panel. CONSTITUTION: A cam type press consists of: an upper die(3) pressurizing a panel(1) from above; a lower die(5) supporting the panel from the lower portion of the upper die; an upper pad(7) drawing the panel after directly forming the panel in the lower portion of the upper die; a fixing steel(9) directly supporting the panel in the upper portion of the lower die; a forming cam(11) sliding horizontally to the lower portion of the upper die behind the upper pad; a vertical operating cam(13) fixed to the lower portion of the upper die behind the forming cam; a base cam(15) slidably mounted on the front of the lower die; a first guide cam(19) fixed to the upper portion of the lower die behind the base cam with a through hole(17); a forming support cam(25) oppositely placed in the advancing direction of the forming cam through a first and a second slant guide unit(21,23); a second guide cam(27) connected to the base cam through the through hole of the first guide cam, sliding on the lower die, and moving the forming cam forward through a third slant guide unit(31); and a horizontal operating cam(33) converting the vertical motion of the vertical operating cam to horizontal motion through a fourth slant guide unit(35) while integrally connected to the second guide cam.
