<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it puts an enormous load on patrol personnel and takes much time to detect a ground fault or a short circuit in a transmission line and grasp the conditions of a fault. SOLUTION: Steel towers 2A to 2N and 3A to 3K are individually provided with ground fault and short circuit detectors 11A to 11N and 12A to 12K. An on/off detection signal from each detector is combined with a detection signal of an adjacent steel tower and is sequentially transmitted to the position of the adjacent steel tower by radio. Main equipment 11 and 12 in the final positions transmit the combined detection signal to a transmission monitoring station 14 through a communications satellite 13 and a point of the fault is determined from the on/off signal of the combined detection signal at the transmission monitoring station 14. A mobile communication car 15 moves to the point of the fault based on the information on the fault from the transmission monitoring station through the communications satellite, grasps the conditions of the fault, and transmits the information to the transmission monitoring station.</p> |
