PURPOSE: An ignition auxiliary device for a diesel engine is provided to accelerate the ignition of initial start by rising an ignition accelerating pin in a piston just before the compression stroke of the piston is finished, and generating compression ignition in the upper end of the ignition accelerating pin. CONSTITUTION: An Electronic Control Unit(ECU)(60) receives signals from an ignition switch(70), a piston sensing unit(50) and a fuel injection sensing unit(80). A driving unit(20) for an ignition accelerating pin(30) raises the ignition accelerating pin toward the upper portion of the piston by a control signal from the ECU when the compression stroke of the piston(10) is finished.
