The invention concerns a double escutcheon plate cylinder (1) for a lock comprising a inner plug and an outer plug respectively consisting of a rotor (2, 2') and a stator (1,1'), each rotor (2, 2') comprising a key housing wherein the inserted key enables the rotor (2, 2') to be unkeyed relative to the stator (1, 1'), the inner and outer rotors (2, 2') being coaxial and co-operating respectively with a single central bit (5) arranged between them, via a catch (4, 4') which, engaged with the central bit (5) enables the lock to be operated. The invention is characterised in that said cylinder (1) further comprises means for disengaging the inner catch (4) attached to the inner rotor (2) engaged in the central bit (5) by inserting a second key or a passkey into the outer rotor (2') so as to enable the lock to be actuated with the second key or passkey when the first key is still engaged in the inner rotor (2). The invention is applicable to locks.
