PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease or preclude exfoliating off of expansion graphite particles when knitting yarns made of expansion graphite are subjected to a twisting process. SOLUTION: Using a knitting yarn base material 3 of internal reinforcement type structured so that a plurality of reinforcing fibers 2 are embedded in an expansion graphite tape 1 having a specified width in the longitudinal arrangement at a certain spacing in the width direction, a twist processing is conducted in the condition that the two ends 1a and 1b in width direction of the tape 1 are folded so that the tape ends 1a and 1b are directed inward about the direction across the width or that the two ends 1a and 1b in width direction of the tape 1 are folded so that the tape ends a and 1b are directed inward about the direction across the width of the knitting yarn base material 3 while it 3 undergoes a twist processing.
