PURPOSE: A kimchi refrigerator and a cavity temperature control method thereof are provided to change temperature ranges of a compressor, a solenoid, a heater and the like according to a comparison result of measurement temperatures of an evaporator temperature sensor and a temperature sensor mounted in the vicinity of a door, thereby minimizing a temperature change of the cavity near the door for maintaining kimchi fresh. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a cavity temperature of a kimchi refrigerator includes the steps of sensing a set temperature of a cavity of the refrigerator in an evaporator temperature sensing part, sensing an average temperature of the cavity near a door of the refrigerator in a door part temperature sensing part(S10-S12), comparing the temperatures measured by the evaporator temperature sensing part and the door part temperature sensing part by a microcomputer(S14-S16), and driving a cooling unit or a heating unit by the microcomputer in a set control temperature range according to a difference between the measured temperatures to minimize an average temperature difference between the cavity set temperature and the near-door part temperature(S18-S28).
