PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plane light source having a uniform light emitting characteristic using small size light source such as LED. SOLUTION: An emitting light of each light emitting sources AR1-AR3/BB1- BB4 of an primary light source G is introduced to buffer area along with the end of the thickness part of the scattering light guide plate 10 from an opening 29. Most of them are transformed diversely in three dimensions by reflection of inner face of the light guide plate 10, scattered reflection/regular reflection of inner face of reflector 20, and an inner scattering (in case of light guide plate adoption). A light beam group obtaining a progress direction which can escape from the buffer area enters into the output area and are guided. In the process, slow illumination light is outputted from emitting face 15 except emitting face covering part 22. The light entering part may be formed at both ends of the buffer part. Inclined plane for converting the direction may be formed in a part of the light guide plate. |
