PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To track a figure immunity and stability to the far and near relation of the figure or disturbance. SOLUTION: A camera image is separated into a figure area and a background area. It is discriminated whether the figure area can be separated in plural blob models corresponding to the part of the figure or not. When the discriminated result is positive, on the basis of the corresponding figure area, plural figure blob models are prepared and when the discriminated result is negative, on the basis of the corresponding figure area, a single figure blob model is prepared. Then, the figure is tracked on the basis of these figure blob models.
