PURPOSE: A workpiece clamping device of a machining tool is provided to continuously replace a chuck by automatically supplying and stopping air and by easily removing the chuck, to generate high clamping force with low air pressure, and to sense if a workpiece is well clamped or not. CONSTITUTION: A chuck is rotated from a chuck base by a clamping and unclamping air valve and moved down when the air valve is equalized with an air cap. Then, the chuck is settled on the chuck base and a cylinder(3) and a lower plunger(6) are moved down with the air supplied to a piston shaft(4). After that, a jaw(9) is rotated to a workpiece clamping position. When a finger bar(8) is equalized with a lock plate(38), the jaw stops rotating. Finally, the jaw is moved down to clamp the workpiece with a locator(18).
