摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for liquid crystal display device which has a simple manufacturing stage and doesnot damage an alignment control layer and flexibly copes with change of the type of liquid crystal display devices. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for a liquid crystal display device where a spacer material 3 is interposed between a pair of electrode substrates 4 is provided with a spacer material scattering stage where the spacer material 3 is scattered on one or both alignment control layers 6 of glass substrates 4 as a pair of electrodes which have light shielding films 2 and alignment control layers 6 on pixels 1, a spacer material sticking stage where light shielding films 2 are irradiated with laser light to stick the spacer material scattered on light shielding films 2 onto alignment control layers 6, and a spacer material removal stage where the spacer material 3 other than that stuck onto light shielding films 2 is removed. Thus the spacer material is selectively stuck by a dry method using an optical process not to pollute the orientation control films. This method flexibly copes with change of the type of liquid crystal display devices to selectively stick the spacer material.
