<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make spacers resistant to crumble against external force in a liquid crystal display device with columnar spacers made of resin. SOLUTION: A 1st level difference correcting layer 31 is arranged on the upper surface of a gate insulating film 7 between a gate line 2 and an auxiliary capacitance line 3, and a 2nd level difference correcting layer 32 is arranged on the upper surface of the gate insulating film 7 and a pixel electrode 6 on the opposite side of the auxiliary capacitance line 3 of the gate line 2. Thus the upper surface of the overcoat film 11 under the spacer 25 becomes almost flat over a wide range. Moreover, the 1st and 2nd level difference correcting layers 31, 32 are formed out of the same material and at the same time as drain line.</p> |
