PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a control method for air conditioner in which a room can be dehumidified while suppressing indoor temperature drop even if the outdoor air temperature is low and the indoor humidity is high. SOLUTION: Control of an air conditioner moves from step ST1 to ST2 when the room temperature Tr approaches a set temperature Ts during dehumidification operation and the indoor humidity is detected. If the detected humidity is higher than 70%, difference between the room temperature Tr and the heat exchanging temperature Tn of an indoor heat exchanger is determined. If the difference is lower than a predetermined value, the control moves from step ST3 to ST4 and refrigerant supply to the upper path of the indoor heat exchanger having an upper/lower path structure is interrupted by closing a solenoid valve thus lowering the heat exchanging temperature Tn. Subsequently, the difference between the room temperature Tr and the heat exchanging temperature Tn is determined again and if the difference is lower than a predetermined value, the control moves from step ST6 to ST7 where a panel (an open/close panel in front of the lower path) constituting a part of the air inlet of the air conditioner is closed thus lowering the heat exchanging temperature Tn. |
