PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct discrimination of a motion vector on the basis of initial motion vector candidates with the accuracy of half a pixel and to conduct motion compensation by utilizing refining by a half pixel gradient method respect to a parallel operation unit in a macro block in succession to the motion vector discrimination. SOLUTION: The adoption of the hybrid-type motion vector discrimination method where a pixel retrieval and a half-pixel retrieval are combined and a bypass delay caused at selection of an initial motion vector candidate is avoided, has the effect of decreasing the calculation complexity. |
