PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always and simply obtain the image data of a non-reverse image even when a film-feed direction is different. SOLUTION: A line CCD 61 performs the main scanning of the reading of a film picture in the arraying direction of a CCD cell. A photographic film 20 is fed to perform the sub-scanning of the reading of the film picture. When previous scanning is performed, the film 20 is fed in one direction and a control circuit 40 reads pixel output from the CCD 61 from one direction. When fine scanning is performed, the film 20 is fed in a direction opposite to the one direction and the circuit 40 reads the pixel output from the CCD 61 from the other direction. Though, the film feeding direction is changed, the erect image data can be obtained simply.
