PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reading efficiency of plural records in a magnetic disk device to store records of CKD format in a disk of FBA format. SOLUTION: This magnetic disk device has a first transfer control part A 29 and a second transfer control part B 33 to be independently operated and reads a count part of a second record by the second transfer control part B 33 in parallel with reading of a data part of a first record by the first transfer control part A 29 during the reading. Thus, the reading efficiency of the plural records is enhanced since the reading of the data part of the first record and the reading of the count part of the second record are overlapped.
