PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of increasing the thickness of an inorganic pigment-containing middle layer and containing inorganic pigment particles dispersed in the middle layer with high uniformity. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor with a middle layer 12 between a substrate 10 and a photosensitive layer 11, the middle layer 12 contains inorganic pigment particles and ultrafine metal particles mixed with the inorganic pigment particles.
