PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method in which a change of photographic performance due to running is slight even when a silver halide photosensitive material containing a hydrazine derivative is processed. SOLUTION: When a black-and-white silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one photosensitive silver halide photographic emulsion layer on the support and containing a hydrazine derivative in the emulsion layer is processed using an automatic processing machine, processing is carried out using a developing solution not substantially containing hydroquinone and containing a developing agent of formula 1, e.g. formula 2 while replenishing the developing solution to the processing machine through a replenishing unit having <=50% open area rate in the horizontal cross-sectional area of a developing solution stock tank.
