PURPOSE: Process and device for cryogenic air are provided which are economical and which enables the user to operate advantageously especially in point of operation technique, and can particularly lessen the quantity of consumed energy. CONSTITUTION: The cyrogenic separation of air with a rectifier system for separating nitrogen and oxygen incorporates a pressure column(2), a low pressure column(3) and a condenser-evaporator system(101,102,103) for heating the low pressure column. The condenser-evaporator system has a first and second section. The first section has a pipe for introducing compacted and pre-cleaned circulating air(1) into the pressure column; A first oxygen-rich liquid(6) is conveyed to, and returned from, the evaporation passages. The second section conveys a second oxygen-rich liquid(12,13) from the evaporation passages.
