PURPOSE: A cover damping apparatus of an electrophotographic printer is provided to reduce shock in opening and shutting a cover by opening and shutting the cover in two-stepped motion with a main damper and an auxiliary damper. CONSTITUTION: A cover damping apparatus of an electrophotographic printer includes a main frame of the printer, a cover(40) coupled with the main frame by a hinge to open and shut the upper part of the printer, a hinge bracket(50) forming one end coupled with the main frame by a hinge, and a main damper(60) forming both ends coupled with the cover and the other end of the hinge bracket and providing damping force to the cover by rectilineal motion of a piston(61) when the cover is opened or shut, so that the opening and shutting operation of the cover is gradually performed by damping force of the main damper and the rotation of the hinge bracket to lighten shock.
