PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation of the sealing performance owing to cracking generated undeliberately at the ends in width direction of an expansion graphite tape of each knitting yarn in gland packing. SOLUTION: Knitting yarn in each gland packing 1/2 is furnished with knitting yarn 10A in which an expansion graphite tape 30 is folded in such a way as shrunk in the width direction and the two ends 31 in width direction of the folded tape 30 are folded back or knitting yarn 20A in which at least the external ends 31' in width direction of a twisted expansion graphite tape 30 are folded back. |
