PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of a photodetector mounting device which regulates the direction orthogonal with the optical axis of a photodetecting beam of the photodetector by displacing a substrate to be fixed with the photodetector on a mounting surface of a mounting plate. SOLUTION: The mounting plate 2 composed by sheet metal is installed and fixed to an optical housing 1 and pressing parts 2a and 2b which press the substrate 3 fixed with the photodetector 4 onto the mounting plate 2 by the energizing force generated by elasticity are formed on this mounting plate 2. The mounting plate 2 is supported onto the optical housing 1 in abutment therewith in the fixing part where the mounting plate 2 is fixed to the optical housing 1. The substrate 3 is displaced by sliding with the mounting plate 2 in the state of temporally fixing the substrate 3 to the mounting plate 2 by pressing with the pressing parts 2a and 2b, by which the regulation in the direction orthogonal with the optical axis of the photodetecting beam received by the photodetector 4 is executed. As a result, the displacement in the optical axis direction of the photodetecting beam in this regulation is prevented.
