PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup in which a frequency of a vibration mode to be generated is preliminarily set to be an arbitrary value and in which the pickup is least affected by the vibration mode correspondingly to a servo characteristic in a system using the optical pickup. SOLUTION: In the optical pickup in which a lens holder 4 with objective lenses 2, 3 mounted is supported so as to make it rockable with a suspension wire 7 on a suspension base 6 fixed on a yoke base 5, and in which focus control and tracking control are performed by a magnetic interaction between a focus driving coil 8 and tracking driving coils 9, installed in the lens holder and a permanent magnets 11A, 11B attached to the yoke base 5; the frequency of the unnecessary vibration mode generating in the lens holder is arbitrarily set by a means for arbitrarily setting the rigidity in a prescribed direction of the suspension base. As a result, the optical pickup is designed to be least affected by the vibration mode correspondingly to the servo characteristic in the system using an optical pickup.
