PURPOSE: An apparatus and method are provided to allow a user to conveniently set a reservation recording of the program and confirming a current recording status of the program with the television operated by using various functions to allow all operations at the television. CONSTITUTION: An EPG(102) receives a composite video signal contained in a radio frequency(RF) signal received at a tuner and controls an electronic program guide. A controlling part(103), which is connected with an external device through EZ-LINK and the EPG(102) in a serial communication line, controls the whole operation of a reservation recording/reproducing circuit. An image controlling part(104) processes the received signal at the tuner to control it, or processes the received signal and a channel guide output signal outputted from the EPG(102), or the received signal and OSD signal outputted from the controlling part(103). The EPG(102) includes a broadcasting guide decoding and controlling part(102a) for decoding the received signal at the tuner and storing or outputting a channel guide output signal, and a reservation recording information storing part(102b) for storing the decoded signal and the reservation recording information data of the television controlling part according to a control signal of the controlling part(103). |
