PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately collate a signature only with a simple device such as which signature is to be written on which writing frame easy for any user to intuitively comprehend. SOLUTION: An input signature written in a signature input area composed of plural writing frames is inputted, discomposed into partial input signatures for the unit of a writing frame and segmented and input signature writing frame selection information showing the writing frame, where each of partial input signatures is written, is acquired (steps 202 and 203). Next, reference signature writing frame selection information registered in a reference signature storage part 12 corresponding to a reference signature is compared with the acquired input signature writing frame selection information so that it can be discriminated whether the input signature is false or not and when it is not discriminated that the input signature is false, for each of writing frames, where the partial input signatures are inputted, the degree of difference between that partial input signature and a partial reference signature corresponding to the relevant writing frame is found so that a cumulative evaluation value concerning all the writing frames can be found. On the basis of this cumulative evaluation value, the truth/false of the input signature is discriminated (steps 204-207).
