PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily increase the number of signals to be recorded in a recording medium by using a magnetic head. SOLUTION: When a head tape 20 is driven in a forward direction, a signal is recorded by a recording head having a head gap inclined in a first direction. When the tape 20 is driven in a reverse direction, a signal is recorded by a recording head having a head gap inclined in a direction reverse to the first direction. Between adjacent tracks, the inclination of a head gap is set different from another. Since a track width is narrowed more than that when no head gap inclination is set, and the effect of signals recorded in adjacent tracks caused by an azimuth loss is reduced, many signals are recorded.
