PURPOSE: Provided is a monoazo compound which has improved light-resistance and washing ability, good solubility and padding liquid stability and color stability, in particular, to un-attached part of dye-colored material, compared to known dyes. CONSTITUTION: The monoazo compound represented by the following formula(1) (wherein M is alkali metal or other non-colored salt-forming metal; X is a group containing a fiber-reactive radical or a group containing the radical; R1 is hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, or phenyl which may be substituted by sulfur, methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy or chlorine group; alc is C1-C4 alkylene; t is 0 or 1; D is phenylene optionally substituted by one or two substituent(s) selected from a group consisting of sulfur, carboxyl, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy and chlorine or, naphthalene optionally substituted by one or two sulfonyl group; R is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl; G can be blocked by hetero radical, C2-C8 alkylene optionally substituted by at least one of substituent selected from a group consisting of halogen, C1-C4 alkyl and phenyl which can be substituted by hydroxyl or C1-C4 alkoxy) and its preparation method are provided.
