PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for managing image data of an electronic video camera to be easily used, by which a large number of image files are easily arranged without being conscious of their existence and both kinds of merits, i.e., the random accessability of a digital image and continuous image appreciation performed by a video tape system in a digital video camera, are utilized. SOLUTION: An electronic camera is utilized, by which moving pictures are recorded not in a sequential medium such as a tape but in a randomly accessible medium such as a hard disk for generating one unit image file at every cut photographing. Then, a large number of image files by the unit of several to several tens of seconds, which are generated in the case of photographing, are automatically divided into groups in accordance with a specified condition such as a photographing time range or place. Then, the image files in the group are continuously reproduced by group unit without causing the user to be conscious of the existence of the image files. |
