PURPOSE: An air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to reduce a mounting space and to improve air-conditioning efficiency through a short distance between ducts by mounting a heater, an evaporator and a blower motor unit between a dash panel and a crash panel. CONSTITUTION: Air flows to an intake duct(18) between a cowl chamber(24) and a dash panel(26) through a cowl top panel. The air flows through a blower motor(14) immediately after an internal/external set door(28). Then the air flows via an evaporator(16). If a warm/cool door(22) is opened, the air flows into inside through a vent duct(30) and a vent grille of a crash panel via a hole of a film door(20) on a case body(10). The film door hole is met with the opened warm/cool door when the cold air flows therethrough. If the warm/cool door is closed, the air flows to a heater core(12) through the evaporator. The film door is rotated to meet the hole with the upper face of the heater core. A foot mode door is opened when a user selects a foot mode to blow indoor air toward a foot. Thereby, the air is blown into inside via a foot mode grille from the heater core or the evaporator.
