PURPOSE: A method for processing electronic program guide is provided to reduce a data transforming amount relative to an EPG between respective receivers by constructing to each receiver a platform independent program, a platform dependent program, and a connecting program thereof. CONSTITUTION: A process transmits an application program, processing a database driving and a management program and EPG (Electronic Program Guide) data, from a first receiver receiving a broadcast bit stream comprising the EPG data to other kind of a second receiver. The second receiver receives and realizes the application program. The first receiver transmits the all or partial receiving broadcast bit stream. The second receiver provides a video and voice to a user decoding the signal. The first receiver extracts the EPG data from the receiving broadcast bit stream, and continuously transmits it to the second receiver. The second receiver drives and renovates the EPG database by using the received EPG data. The process displays the EPG data of the database on a screen according to user's request, and acquires an input from the user. The process processes the acquired input of the user by using the information of the EPG database. When the input of the user is not a request for information in the EPG database, the process transmits the instruction to the first receiver.
