GROUP POLLING METHOD OF SIMPLE NETWORK MANAGEMENT PROTOCOL

PURPOSE: A group polling method of an SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) is provided to divide managed systems into the predetermined number of groups, and perform a polling operation of the groups using an IP(Internet Protocol) multicast. CONSTITUTION: A management system divides the managed systems into a plurality of groups(701). A polling packet for requesting management information is transmitted to the divided groups(702). A managed system which is included in one of the divided groups receives the polling packet, and then transmits its management information to the management system(703). The management system is connected to the managed systems via the Ethernet.
