PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic flash device which is constituted so that the power consumption at initial charging is lowered and charging time is prevented from being prolonged and which is easily adjusted so that the desired power consumption and the desired charging time are obtained. SOLUTION: By turning on/off an FET 31 by a driving pulse signal, pulse voltage given to a primary coil is repeatedly applied. In order to control the maximum value of a primary current flowing to the primary coil, the frequency of the driving pulse signal is set to be constant. Besides, the duty ratio of the driving pulse signal is set to be small at the initial charging and set to be large when charging voltage is high. |
