DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING POP AND PUSH OPERATION OF STACK IN PROCESSING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make executable a high speed stack operation in a processing system. SOLUTION: First and second stack pointers(SP) indicate the uppermost part of a stack and a memory location following the uppermost part of the stack. The first SP is used during the pop operation, and the second SP is used during the push operation. When a certain SP is selected, it is substituted for the other SP. A selected memory pointer is given to a memory module constituting the stack, and updated. At the time of the pop operation, the updated SP indicates the memory location preceding the memory location indicated by the selected SP, and at the time of the push operation, the updated SP indicates a memory address following the address.
