PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure fuel pump controller and a direct injection engine controller in which a high-pressure fuel pump promotes fuel pressure increase from engine start time to reduce an engine start period, reduce exhaust gas material, and improve engine output. SOLUTION: This high-pressure fuel pump controller and this direct injection engine controller for controlling an in-cylinder injection engine comprise a fuel injection valve provided in an air cylinder, the high-pressure fuel pump for feeding fuel to the fuel injection valve by pressure, and a crank angle sensor for detecting a position of a crankshaft of the air cylinder. The high-pressure fuel pump comprises a plunger for pressuring fuel in it, a pump driving cam for driving the plunger, and a cam angle sensor for detecting a position of the pump driving cam. The high-pressure fuel pump controller and the in- cylinder injection engine controller include a driving signal setting means for outputting a driving signal to the high-pressure fuel pump at least two or more times from a signal detecting time of the crank angle sensor by establishing time of a phase between the crank angle sensor and the cam angle sensor.
