PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain communication between Ethernet (R) terminals via an IEEE1394 bus, independently of a protocol of a network layer by using the IEEE1394 bus so as to transfer a MAC frame sent from the Ethernet terminal. SOLUTION: In the method for transferring the MAC frame, the MAC frame stipulated by the Ethernet is transferred via the IEEE1394 bus standardized by the IEEE1394-1955, to allow terminals having Ethernet ports to conduct communication via the IEEE1394 bus via a repeater independently of the protocol of the network layer.
