PURPOSE: A design method of a wide band matching network using coupled lines is provided to implement a wide band impedance matching network inserted between a micro strip antenna and a power supply line for compensating the fast variance of input impedance to increase the I/O frequency band of an antenna. CONSTITUTION: In the first step, a reflection factor of an antenna forming the matching network is extracted using an electromagnetic simulator. In the second step, a reflection factor of an antenna consisting of coupled lines is extracted by driving a microwave simulator using the reflection factor extracted in the first step, the number, length, width and gap of the coupled lines, and it is determined whether the extracted reflection factor arrives a predetermined reference value. In the third step, if not arrives, the number, length, width and gap of the coupled lines are varied and then the second step is repeated. In the fourth step, if arrives, the number, length, width and gap of the coupled lines used in extracting the reflection factor are obtained to structure the wide band matching network.
