PURPOSE: A system and a method for automatically controlling discharge of a battery and start of an engine are provided to prevent discharge of the battery while improving performance of the battery and to restart the engine. CONSTITUTION: A control system is formed by a voltmeter(20) measuring voltage of a battery(10), an engine start detect instrument(30) detecting an engine state, and a control unit(40) controlling an on/off switch(60) through generating a control signal. Herein, the voltmeter measures a voltage between an anode terminal and a cathode terminal of the battery for inputting the measured value to the control unit. Thus, the value is compared with an established minimum voltage. The engine start detect instrument detects cranking after turning on a key. Moreover, the control unit compares the voltage measured in the voltmeter with the established minimum voltage while deciding engine start by using the signal detected in the engine start detect instrument. Then, the control unit performs a specific control.
