PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge system for a portable apparatus which can perform the charge to a portable apparatus from a computer, and prevent the enlargement of the computer and the cost up. SOLUTION: CPU311 detects whether a computer 2 is in external power mode or in battery mode, based on the detection result of a voltage sensor 312. In the case of external power mode, the CPU 311 sends a charge permission signal to a portable telephone 1 when it receives a charge request, and sets a switch 319 to ON, and supplies power to the portable telephone 1 through a connection cable 5. Moreover, the CPU 311 detects the residual quantity of a battery 318, based on the detection result of a battery managing circuit, and if the detection result is at or over the tolerable value, it supplies power from the battery 318 to the portable telephone 1, and if it is under the tolerable value, it outputs a charge rejection signal to the portable telephone 1. The portable telephone 1 informs the user of the drop of the residual quantity of the battery 308 by alarm or warning sound when it receives the charge rejection signal.
