PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head having excellent magnetic characteristics and a spin valve type giant magneto resistive effective film provided with a non-magnetic oxidation shielding conductive layer and an oxide formation protecting film for realizing high output and to provide a magnetic recording device. SOLUTION: A new non-magnetic oxidation shielding conductive layer and a new oxide formation protecting film are successively layered adjacent to a soft magnetic free layer on the surface side of a spin valve and giant magneto resistive effect is more increased than that of conventional spin valve to be able to obtain a magnetic head having high output.
