PURPOSE: A thin connector having a ground plate is provided to prevent electro-magnetic interference, thereby realizing small size connector. CONSTITUTION: With one of the side wall of an engaging part of a connector with a plug connector as a flange part(2b) of an insulator(2), and the other side wall as a first shell(4), a contact(3) is arranged in a contact receiving groove(2d) set at a flange part, a structure of just one layer of contact as a fitting part of the plug connector is adopted. The fitting part of the plug connector is a three layer structure of the contact, the insulator and the shell. Or, it is a two-layer of the contact and the insulator. The height of the connector is smaller than conventional connector.
