PURPOSE: A deciding device for an engine cylinder is provided to decide the cylinder while not using an engine cylinder deciding sensor through detecting a sudden increasing point for detected engine RPM(Revolutions Per Minute). CONSTITUTION: An ECU(Electronic Control Unit) applies a second power of an ignition coil to an ignition plug at a top dead center of a first cylinder for each stroke(40). Then, the ECU decides ignition state in the first cylinder(41). In case of absence of ignition, the ECU decides exhaust stroke of a rotor. Otherwise, the ECU decides compression for detecting engine RPM at the top dead center of the first cylinder by using a sensor(42). In case of the generation of a sudden increase of the engine RPM, the ECU decides compression stroke of the first cylinder(44). Then, the ECU successively ignites a second cylinder and a third cylinder to drive an engine(45).
