CONVERTER FOR RESTRAINING OUTFLOW OF SLAG

PURPOSE: A converter for restraining an outflow of converter slag during tapping is provided to improve quality and settle unstable factors of operation from the post-process by restraining an outflow of slag during tapping. CONSTITUTION: In a converter which can restrain an outflow of slag when tapping molten steel into a receiving ladle through a tap hole (5) after converter refining, the converter comprises a protruding part (6) formed at the upper part of the tap hole of the converter so as to reduce a rotational flow rate of vortex, wherein the protruding part has a height corresponding to a 1/3 to 2/3 of the height from the bottom and the furnace mouth part (7) when the converter is tilted 90 degrees of an angle, and wherein the protruding part consists of a magnesia based refractory material.
