PURPOSE: A controlling method for learning of air flow in a vehicle engine is provided to calculate a prohibit time of an air flow real time learning in switching over a transmission lever by using a cooling water temperature function. CONSTITUTION: An engine control instrument outputs a control signal to a vehicle state detect instrument. Then, the vehicle state detect instrument transfers a throttle valve opening amount, an engine RPM(Revolutions Per Minute), and cooling water temperature to the engine control instrument. The engine control instrument receives the detected values and a location value of a transmission lever from a transmission control instrument. In case of idle state of an engine and stopped state of a vehicle, the engine control instrument detects state of the transmission lever. In case of switching the transmission lever from P or N range to D or R range, the engine control instrument establishes a prohibit time of a real time learning by using the cooling water temperature value. After the prohibit time, a compensating signal of an air flow is outputted to an injector for stabilizing the engine RPM.
