A control switch for a motorised window shutter has a flat metal strip (1) in a low profile duct and with a control knob at the bottom. The top of the strip is shaped to mesh with a gear wheel (3) connected to a rotary switch which controls the motor. The shaping can be a simple rack profile to mesh with a pinion or it can be a bent profile to tilt the control switch in either direction. The design can be applied for many types of remote mechanical controls for electric motors.
