PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid battery capable of easily detecting progress of corrosion on a current collector or a lead-acid battery capable of preventing a short circuit of a positive electrode and a negative electrode even if the current collector corrodes and easily detecting progress of corrosion on the current collector, and a method of judging deterioration of the batteries. SOLUTION: A bipolar electrode 100 having positive electrode active material 5 arranged on one side of a current collector 1 and negative electrode active material 6 arranged on another side of the current collector 1 is housed in a battery jar 102. The current collector 1 comprises lead alloy plates 2, 2' and a metal plate 3 covered with a porous acid resistant insulator 4. The lead acid plates 2, 2' are arranged on both sides of the metal plate 3 and are conductively connected to the metal plate 3 at least at a part of the circumference. The metal plate 3 is provided with a sensor terminal sticking out from the battery jar 102. |
