PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy current probe that has sufficient flexibility for adapting to a changed surface shape, and can endure impact with a surface to be inspected. SOLUTION: A pair of copper coils is embedded in a foil strip. A first coil of the pair generates an electromagnetic field that induces an eddy current on a surface, and the second coil allows a current being influenced by the eddy current on the surface to flow. The current of the second coil is analyzed for obtaining information on a surface eddy current. An eddy current probe has a metal housing with a tip being covered with a flexible conductive foil strip. The foil ship is mounted to a deformable nose at the tip of the probe, thus setting the strip and coil to the same shape as that of the surface where the strip and coil are applied.
