PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor element using a surface plasmaon, having an intermediate layer carrying a protective layer or a sensitive layer for capturing target material without any influence on the measuring sensitivity and being susceptible by a change in the environment temperature. SOLUTION: A second layer having a fixed thickness and containing inorganic or organic material is provided on a silver thin film to minimize an influence on the sensitivity of a sensor, thereby restraining influence due to a temperature change of the sensor.
