PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a plasma display device which is capable of not only enhancing the performance and the efficiency of display discharge but also is capable of prolonging the life of a plasma display panel which is driven. SOLUTION: After a pulse for display discharge which is to be simultaneously applied to X electrode lines is started at the point of time when a pulse for display discharge which is to be simultaneously applied Y electrode lines is completed and when a scanning pulse and display data are applied to a plasma display panel before a pulse for display discharge which is to be simultaneously to the Y electrode lines is started, electric power of the pulse for display discharge which is to be simultaneously applied to the Y electrode lines is made to be electric power higher than that of the pulse for display discharge which is to be simultaneously applied to the X electrode lines.
