PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high compression efficiency by reducing leakage of gas as well as to obtain high mechanical efficiency by reducing a friction loss. SOLUTION: This scroll type pump is provided with a fixed scroll 2 and a movable scroll 3 respectively provided with spiral laps; moves a sealed space between overlapping both laps of the fixed scroll 2 and the movable scroll 3 while changing the content unit volume by turning motion being revolution of a prescribed radius of the movable scroll 2; is provided with a sliding member 6 arranged on the circumference with the revolution center of the movable scroll 3 as the center; and is provided with a back pressure applying means 7 for applying back pressure to a back face of the movable scroll 3 via the sliding member 6. Shaft directional clearance between the fixed scroll 2 and the movable scroll 3 is reduced by applying the back pressure via the sliding member 6.
